The new year is almost here, we are counting the days to the end of 2023. As 2024 approaches the urge to list down all the things to accomplish in the new year are coming. I want to share some of the few things that are on my bucket list so you can add it to yours! 1.   Canyon de Chelly National Monument  A national monument located in northeastern Arizona with beautiful views and a fascinating history. There are no entrance fees and many people offer tours to explore. Navajo-owned companies offer tours of the canyon floor by horseback, hiking, or a vehicle.  2.  skydiving          Going skydiving is something I have always wanted to do. If you are an adrenaline junkie like I am this would be perfect to add to your bucket list! Going skydiving unlocks a whole new feeling that I want to experience for myself.  3.  Visiting a new country  Earth is so big with so many countries and places to visit. Fast Food (entry #9)

Fast food is hard to ignore when it is surrounded everywhere you go. Many people think buying fast food is a much easier way to eat because it saves time and is cheap. Although eating fast food every once in a while is okay, it shouldn't become a regular habit.  Fast foods are high in calories, fats and sugars which can be drastic to one's health.  Calories: Fast food chains typically have much more calories than important nutrients like vitamins and minerals our body needs. The average women should eat 2000 calories per day and the average male should eat up to 2500 calories per day. A meal from fast foods can be up to 2000 calories which does not allow your body to get the proper nutrients without overeating.  Fats Fast food is high in Saturated fats. Eating too much food that contain high levels of fats can give you bad cholesterol which can be a risk of cardiovascular diseases. The American Heart Association recommends to not eat more than 6% of your calories from sat...

Is A Clean Space The Answer To A Clear Mind? (Entry #8)

Our entire lives we have heard the saying, "Clean space, clear mind."  Is this really true? Well from my experiences I believe it is. Throughout high school I have always struggled with keeping my room clean mostly due to feeling tired and being "too" busy with other things. My mental health was suffering, and I never realized that the issue was right in front of me.  Cleaning your room is a form of self-care,  it gives you a sense of feeling clean and for me it helps me feel relaxed and settled. Obviously, especially me being a teenage girl I'll leave clothes on the floor or makeup on my desk but I try my best to put away all of my belongings as soon as possible.  We all have control over our environment and how we can feel. Researchers have found that cleaning your room helps you gain a sense of control over your environment. The list of benefits there are having a clean room go on and on and here are a few. increases productivity  decreases stress better slee...

Fresh (Entry #7)

The film "Fresh" focuses on the current food productions in America. Many people eat their food with no question. However, many people like the creator of the film Ana Sofia Joanes do ask themselves questions about the food being ingested into our bodies.  Where does our food come from? Who does it come from? There are so many questions you can think of when it comes to the foods we are eating every single day.  The film exposes the ugly truth of food productions in America and are aiming to change how farms run, how food is distributed and how the land is being cared for.      After watching the Film I realized how America is producing and feeding us unhealthy foods. The film is for every American watching to make them realize the problem within the food industry. Although it is a very negative topic to speak about,  they want each person to make a difference and help change this problem. This is such an important thing to talk about and to spread th...

ad ( Entry #5)

Take a moment to watch this Ad: So what is the purpose of this ad? Well as we all know advertisements are to inform, persuade, and remind the audience. The ad starts off with a guy straightening his hair mentioning how he is an inspiring beauty blogger.  In the ad he mentions how leaving the burning hair straightener on the towel will cause destruction but will be even worse if you have the wrong home insurance, he then goes on to tell the audience to get Allstate to protect them from mayhem. The audience he is trying to inform are home owners, he wants them to know they will be protected from Allstate and to choose them. In the video he is acting like an irresponsible teenage girl, which allows people to relate to him especially parents. He then goes on to compare the mark left on the towel to the mark left on someone with bad insurance. Insurance is supposed to protect someone from a financial loss under any circumstance. In the video he goes on to mention that Allst...

stress ( Entry #4)

Stress is something we all go through, some more than others. Stress can make us feel many different ways such as, irritable, mad, overwhelmed, anxious, etc. Stress can make you feel many things.  I learned in psychology class that stress can actually shorten the length of our telomeres. So you might be thinking, what even are telomeres. Well let me break it down for you. Telomere is a region of repetitive DNA sequences at the end of a chromosome and each time a cell divides, the telomere will become shorter. Stress damages those telomeres which contribute to short and even dysfunctional telomeres.  So how do you solve this problem? Although stress is very common, the way you handle it is very important.  Take a moment for yourself to think about how you deal with stress.  Although It isn't easy dealing with stress, managing it is very important.  Here are the 4 A's of stress management: 1. A void unnecessary stress - know your limits and stick to them, av...
