Fast food is hard to ignore when it is surrounded everywhere you go. Many people think buying fast food is a much easier way to eat because it saves time and is cheap. Although eating fast food every once in a while is okay, it shouldn't become a regular habit. Fast foods are high in calories, fats and sugars which can be drastic to one's health.
Calories:
Fast food chains typically have much more calories than important nutrients like vitamins and minerals our body needs. The average women should eat 2000 calories per day and the average male should eat up to 2500 calories per day. A meal from fast foods can be up to 2000 calories which does not allow your body to get the proper nutrients without overeating.
Fats
Fast food is high in Saturated fats. Eating too much food that contain high levels of fats can give you bad cholesterol which can be a risk of cardiovascular diseases. The American Heart Association recommends to not eat more than 6% of your calories from saturated fat.
Sugars
Sugars are in almost everything we eat making it pretty hard to avoid. Fast food contributes to a lot of cardiovascular diseases due to the amount of sugar added. Scientific studies are finding links between sugar consumption and diseases such as obesity, blood pressure. and diabetes.
There are many ways to substitute Fast food with healthier options, being aware of what you are really eating can make a big difference in your health.

It's crazy how fast-food can be so detrimental to peoples health just from eating a lot of it. I thought it was interesting how people need to be eating those amount of calories but waste it in empty foods that don't provide nourishment.
